Allison, Sometimes the items on clearance are close to expiration date and other times they are just trying to move the product. We have a deep freezer so after washing the produce we flash freeze and store them in the freezer. Also, we use a "Blu Apple" which significantly helps extend the life of the produce. Here is what they look like: BluApple BluApple Refills Our BluApples have always lasted longer than 3 months and we have 1 full drawer full of Fruits and 1 full drawer full of Vegetables.

I think it might just be worth a trip over to Easley to your Ingles for all those specials! Why can’t mine mark items to 99 cents? They are so stuck on $1.99!!
