Glacier Bay National Park (Alaska)

p1240205c

Our family at Glacier Bay National Park!

On our Alaska cruise we were able to visit Glacier Bay National Park.  It was BEAUTIFUL!!!  The day started out as rainy and cool, but it cleared up as we were getting closer to the glaciers.  The overcast, misty, and foggy day gave it a really neat look.  Thankful for the opportunity to visit this beautiful place.  We LOVED hearing the glaciers snap, crackle, pop, and watching them slide into the water.

The water was a gorgeous blue color with lots of ice chunks floating around into it.  The lines and colors in the glaciers were super pretty.  You could really see a lot of the dirt, rocks, and items that the glaciers brought down through the mountains and valleys with it.  It was a super fascinating experience!   We took a lot off pictures, but even the pictures don’t do it justice.  We even saw several animals while on the boat going through Glacier Bay…a bear near a camp site with campers in a tent, otters swimming in the water, and more!

We had the privilege of visiting Glacier Bay National Park on it’s 100 anniversary!  While we were cruising through Glacier Bay National Forest Rangers were giving talks and sharing information about the area.  It was a very educational and fun activity for the whole family!

Work & Family Event at Lake Keowee

WJC&B Work and Family Event at Lake Keowee

Karlie and Brina with their friend kayaking on Lake Keowee

This past weekend we had the opportunity to enjoy a Lake event with Bridgette’s co-workers at Lake Keowee!  We had a blast!  A huge thanks to Jeff and Sonya for their hospitality.  They graciously shared their home, boat, kayaks, paddle board, life jackets, floats, and many other fun items with everyone.  The girls had a grand time kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing, and splashing around off the dock!

Thankful for an opportunity to relax and have fun with people at work.  It was a great opportunity for Jake and the girls to meet some of the people I work alongside day to day.  The weather was gorgeous, food was delicious, and the company was great too.  Grateful for a chance to hang out at the Lake for a day – perfect way to spend a Saturday!  The kids slept well that night after a fun day at the Lake Keowee with their friends!!!

Travel & Vacation: Beautiful Roatan, Honduras

'Loving traveling with this guy!'
Jake and I in Roatan, Honduras

Visiting beautiful Roatan, Honduras! It was a sunny day in Roatan and we did probably one of my favorite ocean activities so far – Snuba! I LOVED it!!!! We were able to go down 25 feet and explore the bottom of the ocean. The ocean ecosystem was fascinating! All the sea grass, fish, coral, sand, and everything moving smoothly and peacefully in the ocean was simply AMAZING! I would do it again in a heartbeat! We were each hooked to an oxygen tank and could go down to 25 feet without needing to come up for air. Snuba is kind of a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving! If you have a chance to try it do it. It was much more gorgeous then even the pictures reflect!

'LOVE waking up and seeing the beautiful ocean and an equally gorgeous sunrise!'

One of us has small feet and had to wear the kid fins…..can you guess who, ha!?
'The park where we did the Snuba activity was postcard pretty! I could have stayed there for a lot longer if we had more time!'
Beautiful place!  Definitely want to go to do Snuba again sometime!

Travel & Vacation: Cozy Cow Dairy (Windsor, CO)

 Cozy Cow Dairy

On one of our trips to Colorado my cousin Renelle introduced us to Cozy Cow Dairy in Windsor, CO.  It was a hot summer day and we were heading back to her house when we made a slight detour to the Cozy Cow Dairy.  The girls LOVED it!  Not only did they have amazing fresh chocolate milk, ice cream, cheeses, and more they had a farm animal petting zoo.

Before even going into the store we had to go by and say “hi” to each of the farm animals.  They had some precious little ones so they girls thought it was so neat.  After petting the animals and washing our hands we enjoyed some fresh chocolate milk and ice cream.  It was DELICIOUS!!!  It hit the spot on the hot summer day too.  After our special treat we headed back outside to pet the farm animals once more before heading back to Renelle’s house.  If you are in the Windsor area this is a great place to spot, cool down, and get a treat.  The kids will probably enjoy the farm animals too!

 Elephant on the move

Our kids love animals.  On one of our trips to Colorado we had an opportunity to go to the Denver Zoo with extended family.  The kids had a blast.  It was neat seeing all the different animals, going to show, learning about the zoo animals, activities, and so much more.  Thankful for a chance to go to the Denver Zoo with the kids.

If your family enjoys Zoo’s and you are in the Denver, Coloardo area you should check this one out.  They have a lot of animals to see.  The shows and activities are fun and very educational for the kids.
